| Dear Hills Chamber of Commerce Members: Later this month, on Sunday, June 29th, the annual Hickory Hills Street Festival will be held along Roberts Road from 91st Street to 95th Street. This annual event draws thousands of attendees and many stop by the Hot Bingo and Cold Beer Tent. This operation is jointly sponsored this year by the Hills Chamber of Commerce, the Sertoma Speech and Hearing Center and the Hickory Hills Youth Baseball / Softball Association. Profits from the operation (after expenses) are shared equally by the three organizations. The Hills Chamber’s share of the proceeds last year amounted to $579.35. I’LL “CUT TO THE CHASE,” so to speak … I SEEK YOUR HELP TO HELP MAKE THE STREET FAIR’S BINGO TENT A HUGE SUCCESS AND HELP PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS on SUNDAY JUNE, 29TH ! There are 2 (two) ways you can help out and promote your business: 1. VOLUNTEER TO WORK A SHORT SHIFT AT THE BINGO TENT You (and/or some of your employees) can be “bingo tent volunteers.” Bingo volunteers must be 21 years of age or more. No experience is necessary. Three shifts are set up as follows: A) 11:15AM TO 2:00PM HELP WITH SET UP AND RUNNING INITIAL BINGO GAMES, ETC. B) 2:00PM TO 4:00PM HELP RUN AFTERNOON BINGO GAMES AND /or OTHER ACTIVITIES C) 4:00PM TO 6:00PM HELP RUN AFTERNOON BINGO GAMES AND CLOSE UP / OTHER, ETC. OR 2. DONATE A PRIZE (OR PRIZES) TO BE AWARDED TO BINGO WINNERS Publicize your business by donating a prize or gift certificate / card to be awarded to the winner of a bingo game. Last year … for the first time … area businesses donated almost $3,000 worth of prizes and gift cards / certificates. Believe me, I was there … the bingo players were most appreciative. In addition to that good will, your business will be announced as a game sponsor and listed in the program given to all tent visitors and on promo flyers distributed before and during the event and also be acknowledged afterwards on the City’s website. Gift certificates/cards preferred since they encourage people to go to your business.
